Words of Farewell from Outgoing Editor-in-Chief Dorothy Chun

Post

To the faithful readership of LLT:

It has been a distinct privilege and pleasure to have served as the Editor in Chief of LLT since 2000. With profound gratitude to Mark Warschauer, the founding editor of LLT and to the NFLRC at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, the long standing publisher of LLT, I stepped down on December 31, 2025.

I am deeply appreciative of my Co-Editors in Chief over the years: the late Irene Thompson, Trude Heift, and for the past year and a half, Hayo Reinders. To all who have served as Associate Editors, Column Editors (Emerging Technologies, Review Syntheses, Media Reviews, Forums, Social Media, Podcasts), Managing Editors, Editorial Board members, and on the publishing and OJS team, my heartfelt thanks for your excellent and enduring teamwork. And last, but not least, to all of our faithful readers throughout the years, YOU have also helped to make the journal what it is today.

I am delighted that starting January 1, 2026, Lara Lomicka will join Hayo as a Co-Editor in Chief. Lara has been an Associate Editor for many years and has a long association with LLT, so the transition should be seamless.

With all good wishes for the holidays and a Happy and Healthy New Year,

Dorothy Chun
